The Federation of Master Builders has become an official supporter of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity. This is the only charity to provide financial and emotional support to the construction community and their families who have suffered an injury, illness or just needs some extra support.

The charity provides a 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline which is the first point of contact to access a range of completely free and confidential support services including;

  • Emergency Financial aid to construction families in crisis
  • Advice on welfare and mental wellbeing
  • Support on legal, tax and debt management matters

There is also a free Construction Industry App which provides vital information, advice and guidance on a variety of wellbeing issues including stress, anxiety, depression, anger and suicidal thoughts.

Bill Hill, CEO of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity said, “Two construction workers take their own life every working day in the UK and 20% of all time off work is reported as being related to stress, anxiety or depression. This simply isn’t acceptable and we need to do everything we can to change these horrendous statistics.

We are delighted that the Federation of Master Builders have joined us as a Company Supporter and joined our mission to ensure that no worker feels alone in a crisis.

It also means that we can raise awareness of our free and confidential 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline and helpline app to their members, along with information about our Building mental Health programme and mental health training.”
