The main objective of the Turnstones project was to create a sustainable, low-energy family home that maximised its coastal views while addressing the needs of a multigenerational household. Key requirements included providing wheelchair accessibility, four en-suite bedrooms, and adaptable spaces for family members and guests. Sustainability was central to the design, following passive house principles, with the integration of renewable energy systems (solar PV, ground source heat pump) and low-carbon materials. The green roof and sustainable landscaping enhanced local biodiversity and reduced stormwater runoff.
