Alskea’s vision, commitment and investment to lovingly restore the original Administration Building to its former glory, transforming it into 29 luxury apartments, has meant a listed building and architectural marvel that has stood for over 100 years is now primed to withstand hundreds more.

The overall project has (and will continue to) contribute massively to the economic and social development of the area, accommodating 29 new homeowners within Admin House alone, which will see more money spent in local shops in the surrounding areas of Belvoir and Carryduff as well as the more emotive result of creating a new legacy for the Belvoir Park Hospital site as a whole.

This was an infill development site situated off a quiet cul de sac with rear boundary defined by the main Belfast to Dublin railway line. A development of 15 traditionally constructed houses built in red facing brick with render panels. Consisting of a range of 3 & 4 bed semi & detached homes with associated driveways and front and rear gardens. Kevin Cartin Architects were responsible for the planning application and concept design with the Alskea architectural team taking over once approval was granted, undertaking the technical working drawings and Building Control applications. We then undertook our own interior design and show-home fit out.

The refurbishment and conversion of a landmark, listed and derelict church building (The Chapel of the Resurrection) into 4 bespoke private apartments. As a stunning centrepiece to a new residential development of 25 houses, the main objective was to bring the historical artefact back into use with a sensitive conversion that would ensure the continued life of the building and provide interesting and beautiful accommodation for living. Alskea were responsible for the design process and achieved planning permission with their in house architectural team in collaboration with specialist conservation architects and the Historic Environment Division of the local council.

The main objective was to refurbish what is a beautiful Victorian terrace and showcase its period features with a cool contemporary edge. We were not changing the property from what it was, it already had an extension done to the rear by a previous owner. We wanted to change the living accommodation from a dark narrow terrace with no windows on the side of the property into a bright and spacious flowing space.
