Buckby Plant & Construction Ltd recently converted our garage to an office/utility space.
The scope of the work involved brickwork, window installation, insulating walls/ceilings, new radiators, plaster-boarding and plastering, rewiring and future proofing electrics, levelling and installing a new wooden floor.
They did a quality job with all work carried out to an excellent standard. James (Crane) of Buckby Plant & Construction Ltd led the project, including liaison with the Building Control officer, and he ensured all of the specialist trades kept to his standards and it was a pleasure to have all the guys in the house – in particular, never having to clean up after them!
James has an eye for detail and now that the office is up and running, we cannot see the join’ between the existing house and the office.
Work was carried out broadly on budget, with the only additions being ideas we incorporated during the build.

We rarely leave a review but felt compelled to on this occasion as the work done to transform our stairs from dark and oppressive mahogany to light oak with white posts, is nothing short of amazing. Not only that, the stairs now incorporate a wine cellar underneath with doors that open triggering a light!!! Bit of a win win really. The quality of work is really excellent, loads of suggestions made by James helping to produce the best possible result and the above doesn't even mention the 13 white internal doors removed and replaced with oak veneer doors. The whole house looks totally different and, as a bonus, we now have a proper wine cellar! Many thanks to James for his total commitment and dedication to the job. Buckby Plant & Construction Ltd was responsible for the complete renovation of our three bed house. The work carried out was extensive, including converting the downstairs to an open plan living space and a complete rebuild of the outbuildings to provide a utility room and toilet. The end result was fantastic and we now live in the home we envisaged when we purchased the property. Everything was completed to a high standard, on time and within budget. I would highly recommend Buckby Plant & Construction Ltd and would definitely use them again in the future.

We had a 200 year old cottage with some major structural and drainage issues and needing rewiring replumbing and part re-roofing as well as fitting new kitchen and bathroom. James did a fantastic job , resolved all the issues we knew about and identified and fixed others found "under the skin" after starting the project. Would never cut a corner on anything- someone to put complete confidence in.

James’ work is of a high standard and he always goes above and beyond to complete the job. He is very good at explaining and solving any issues, and has extensive knowledge of the building trade. He has recently completed the fitting of two attic doors for us and immediately knew what style would be in keeping with the house. They needed to be cut to size, which he did with ease, and he was then able to guide us to ensure the most appropriate door furniture was selected. He is knowledgeable, personable and keeps all work areas very tidy. I have no hesitation in fully recommending him for any carpentry job or building work.
