 Heritage Restoration :-When our client purchased this fabulous 1700c property they knew they were taking on a challenge. 70 years of modern building products and an unsympathetic renovation in the 1970's meant we had to suggest some radical works to recover the building.

Buildfix conducted a detailed survey of the property, identifying problems, providing solutions and importantly phasing and costing the repair project so the client knew what to expect. After exposing wattle and daub we knew this project was going to be special.

Damp had taken hold and with brickwork saturated we needed to dry the building out and apply traditional building materials that will let the property sustain it's own equilibrium for another 200 years.

75mm below the surface exposed the lack of footings, bricks on clay, installation of a limecrete shallow underpin ring beam was the first solution. Stability for the building was key.

Buildfix took care of the design and planning, the refusal, the appeal and subsequent granted permission. Bringing in experts to challenge the objection. 

Buildfix dealt with building control, challenged the request to underpin, teaming up with a structural engineer to save over £30K in unnecessary costs
