The primary objective of this new build project was to achieve 'Passive House Certification', a goal the clients were highly motivated to accomplish. Attaining this certification we worked closely with the head Architect, who has lot of experience and knowledge in Passive House design and regulations.

Of course the other main objective was for the house to look breath-taking from every angle, something we hope you agree we have achieved. So you could say the overall aim was to cohesively have a unique, aesthetic home, but not allowing this to hinder any of the sustainable aspects.

From the exterior, the eco-certified Thermowood Ash cladding, give the home a natural striking feel, while also being sustainably made with natural methods of heat and steam. The hand-placed dry stone walling to most of the lower and some of the upper elevations of the property reduce the carbon footprint of the materials used.

The start of 2023 meant the start of an exciting project which we are proud to be the main contractor on. This being a Passivhaus, in New Mill, Holmfirth.

This new build property built for our clients and will consist of the main house and detached garage.

The main construction of the house is timber frame with stone and timber clad exterior with a steel and sedum roof. The idea of the Passivhaus is to reduce the buildings ecological footprint, be ultra low energy in heating the building.

Months of development have gone into this project, so far for our clients, to help ensure the house meets the high standards of Passivhaus.

We are super excited and proud to have been able to achieve the Certified Passive House status for our client who have now moved into the property and enjoying their amazing new home.

This project involved the conversion of a 1930s Methodist Chapel into a spacious, contemporary four-bedroom family home.

The primary objective was to maximize the potential of the existing building while preserving its unique character. Notable features, such as the tall ceilings and exposed beams, were retained to maintain the architectural integrity of the first floor.

The design was developed in-house by our dedicated team. A key vision for the project was the creation of a covered balcony on the first floor. By working with the building’s original shape, we were able to design a large, sheltered outdoor space with glass balustrades, offering uninterrupted views across the valley. This feature not only enhances the living experience by allowing residents to fully appreciate the breath-taking scenery, but also provides essential shelter, particularly given the home's location at the crest of the Holme Valley.

The property has three levels to the rear making the most of the views, detached garage and extensive parking and gardens.

The keys were handed over to our clients in time for their first Christmas in their new home in December 2022.
