Milton Lodge was completed and sold in 2023 – remarkably, the very first viewer became the buyer. 

This detached home spans some 4,000 sq ft and stands out for its extensive basement complex, which houses a spa, gym and cinema.

To create this subterranean level, 3,000 tons of rock were excavated, after which a steel frame was erected to form the basement. Subsequently, an oak-frame structure was built atop the cellar before the traditional shell was constructed around it.

Moreover, the house exudes the signature flair of a Geoff Milton design, featuring floating oak staircases, oak accents throughout, a bespoke handmade kitchen, lift, spa complex, gym, six wet-room bathrooms and DALI lighting controls.

Simply stunning, Milton Lodge broke new ground in Frenchay and achieved a record asking price for the area.

Cabot Court was a brand new development built by Geoff in 2009 with a GDV of £8 million. 

Cabot Court stands on the site of an old factory that Geoff demolished in the up-and-coming Old Market area of Bristol. 

Cabot Court consisted of 46 luxury apartments built in a very contemporary style with all the mod cons and air conditioning. The main building was built of natural stone and reticulated render to complement the surrounding buildings in the area and also incorporated its own electricity substation. The stone was saved from the old factory building, then reused and incorporated into the front façade. 

Internally, the building was serviced by its own eight-person passenger lift, and solar panels on the roof supplied the apartments. The building also had a sophisticated automatic ventilation system in the event of a fire. The apartments themselves were beautifully finished with contemporary kitchens and bathrooms.

Milton Lodge in Leighwoods, Bristol, was a unique property built by Geoff in 1992.

Designed with architect Chris Calcutt in a striking Palladian style, it was considered highly modern at the time. From the front, it appears as a two-story house, but the rear reveals a grand four-story structure. Built into solid rock, it posed major challenges, especially with waterproofing, yet was completed to an exceptional standard using brick and Portland stone—and still looks pristine today.

The house includes all modern comforts, with bespoke kitchens and bathrooms crafted by Geoff’s skilled team. Notable features include a flying bay and a top-floor studio with an apex lantern.

At the rear, a balcony off the main lounge offers sweeping views of Leighwoods, one of Bristol’s most prestigious areas.

Milton Court and Petra mark a high point in Geoff’s career as a luxury house builder.

He constructed two homes in the garden of a Victorian house in Clifton. Planners insisted the new builds reflect the style of the original era while meeting modern regulations—an approach that made Geoff’s work stand out.

Built from Bath stone carved by his stonemasons, the houses also featured infill panels using stone from the Forest of Dean. Geoff collaborated with English Heritage to meet exacting standards.

Geoff originally built Gloucester Lodge in the 1990s, along with two similar houses on the same quiet road in Frenchay, Bristol, as a completely new build. 

Constructed in a mock-Tudor style, Gloucester Lodge features red brick, tall white-washed gables and black larch boards to accentuate the Tudor aesthetic. The property itself extends to around 4,000 square feet of floor space, and the main lounge showcases an ornate plaster ceiling by Moran and Wheatley of Bath. The house boasts an impressive green-oak orangery with leather-look tiled walls, a large skylight and bifold doors opening onto a secret courtyard. Gloucester Lodge was designed by Geoff and his team; Geoff personally crafted the handmade bespoke kitchen and oversaw the tiling, fixtures and fittings. Ultimately, this unique, timeless property blends old and new effortlessly, with modern contemporary features matching seamlessly.

Tudor House in Frenchay, Bristol, was built by Geoff in 1985. So impressed by the result, Geoff lived there with his family for several years. 

Designed in a mock Tudor style, the house sat on a large plot on Bristol Road and spanned around 4,000 square feet. Its roof was a masterpiece, crafted with 50,000 Brosley Dreadnought tiles, hand-cut by Geoff’s carpenters, with one tradesman brought out of retirement to complete the tiling.

Inside, the home featured a double Brazilian mahogany staircase with a gallery landing and a niche at the top. The lounge showcased a marble fireplace, while the front displayed a balcony framed by black larch timbers and whitewashed walls. Outside, Geoff added a built-in barbecue to the main chimney stack.

With bespoke kitchens from Geoff’s joinery shop and luxury bathrooms with premium ceramic tiling, Tudor House was ahead of its time. Over 30 years later, it still looks as fresh as the day it was built.
