How it's going vs how it started, followed by some progress photos along the way.

Here's a small update, we now have the second floor and roof structures almost complete and looking more like a 2-bedroom home new build by the day.

With just the front and rear garden work to go, we're pleased to share the details of this project. Our client requested a modern transformation, which was certainly fulfilled with the accents of green throughout the home. Some of the pretty standard features that we included are: underfloor heating, hardwood dressed bespoke stairs, electric Velux windows, and a beautiful aged style parquet flooring.

Firstly, a 14 metre underpinning was completed for the two storey extension due to unstable ground in the Canary Wharf area. A loft dormer was built on the third floor with new stairs built by our carpenters, and new Velux windows fitted onto the roof. The entire property was refurbished including the features: new bathrooms and kitchen (as seen in the images), new plumbing system, full re-plastering and decorating, engineered flooring throughout, replaced windows and doors. 

The rear house extension was built on 14m deep piles due to the unstable ground near Canary Wharf. A full refurbishment was completed, with steels inserted into the main wall opening to connect the existing and new buildings and create a large living space, where we put in a new island kitchen with underfloor heating throughout. Other features added were new electrics, electric roof Velux windows with a remote control and rain sensors, a new turf, pergola, and general landscaping.

Initially a two-bedroom terraced property, we stripped it fully (including all previous plastering) and rewired the whole electric system, installed new plumbing including the underfloor heating in the bathroom and kitchen. New plasterboards were fitted on the walls to even them and they were then skimmed. All windows and doors were replaced. The property layout was changed entirely and a rear 6 metre extension was added with a GRP roof (fibre, glass and resin). Roof Velux's were fitted, as well as aluminium bifold doors leading to the garden. Movement sensor lights were added into the hallways of the property. Engineered wooden floors were fitted throughout the home.

Mantas is never one to quit a job, large, small, and everything in between; if there is ever an issue that needs to be resolved he will spur everyone on to solve it using his experience and initiative to come up with creative solutions to make sure that all client's fantasies materialise into reality hence why he is repeatedly mentioned in testimonials by clients. Politeness and professionalism are the spearhead of the way in which his clients are dealt with; it is undeniable that tradespeople are somewhat stigmatised and lampooned due to being perceived as having less than an abundancy of either of those qualities, especially if one comes from an Eastern European background which Mantas does. There is nobody else that can prove peoples stereotypical views to be more erroneous. With his headstrong attitude as he strictly oversees builds, he congruously makes sure that every project is one to have pride in for everyone's hands that were involved.

A beautiful open plan refurbishment completed with a new kitchen!

Previously a conservatory, we knocked down the main wall to create a large open space. A steel box frame was inserted to hold the ceiling and floors above. 

A new kitchen was installed with underfloor heating and a new engineered floor was laid. The whole area was decorated according to the client's requests.

We began by fully demolishing the interior, & some walls to create two open plan office spaces across two floors. A full rewiring of the electric system was done & industrial chamfered galvanised channel skirting was installed throughout the entire work space with electric sockets in the skirtings. Commercial floor sockets were added for convenience. We implemented suspended galvanised ceiling channels & hung lights. Non-standard stairs & 2.4m tall doors were fitted. We created bespoke kitchens for both floors, made of steel frames & marine plywood, & oak planks were joined together to create worktops. The ground floor was dug up, insulated underground floor heating was installed into the screed and electric combi boilers were also used due to the lack of gas accessibility for the heating on the ground floor, & the wet system radiators that we added on the first floor. We levelled the floor joists on the first floor to lay an oak flooring. Both floors were fully redecorated.

As you can see all of our strengths are on show with this project – For example, the way we’ve brought the beautiful old building together with the new extension, the new GRP flat roof, or the Contemporary pyramid skylights implemented to add extra light to the new area.
