At DK Building we are so fortunate to work with lovely customers who appreciate the high standard of expertise we pride ourselves on.
We were happily approached by a client who works in Indonesia, as he had recently purchased a flat to be his UK home with his wife.
The scope of work included: replacing the flooring, doors and skirting boards, fitting new wardrobes, plastering the ceilings, refurbishing 2 bathrooms and decorating throughout.
Due to work commitments, our client was not physically present during the renovation, but we had weekly meetings and sent weekly progress reports via our CRM system. Due to this close working relationship it allowed us to quickly resolve any issues.
Here is the feedback we received after the work was completed: "all the work done by you and your team is top-notch. So many thanks for all your efforts. We are both very pleased with the final result and the process."

During the specification phase we were able to help match the scope of building work with the client's budget.
The renovation included replacing the electrics, central heating and fitting new windows. A large part of the project was to create an open-plan kitchen and living room, including converting part of the attic into a vaulted ceiling with skylight windows. We installed a new kitchen, underfloor heating and large bifold doors leading out to the garden.
In the other part of the house, one bedroom was converted into a dressing room, two bathrooms and two further bedrooms were renovated.
Because of excellent communication with the client plus his involvement, we were able to successfully produce the client's dream house.

Wherever possible, original features were retained – the sash windows, ceiling architraves and irreplaceable tall skirting boards. After re-plastering, the skirting around one bay window was lovingly cut into small pieces by one of the DK team and restructured to fit.

Our clients moved in to their semi-detached house intending to modernise it and make it “theirs”. The transformation included demolishing internal walls to extend the kitchen, adding rooflights, creating a new utility room; and converting the incorporated garage into a new office space and bathroom.
DK Building have “definitely achieved what we were looking for” and the bright open space was a great venue for a big family birthday party which would not have been possible before the transformation.
Clients have lived in a detached 1970’s bungalow on the edge of a conservation area in Liverpool for 14 years and wished to construct a small single storey extension at the side of the house. They had a vision of how they might be able to widen the hallway, let more light in to the area and include space for a new bathroom and utility room.
An architect worked with the clients to design a small extension (only 2m wide) and liaised with the Council to help them obtain planning permission. His “genius idea” of 4 full height glazed areas in the extension wall allows the sun to flood the whole vestibule with light and create a feeling of space and connection with the garden outside.
Clients report “it has made a massive difference to the house”

This project involved removing old water tanks from the loft, removing all unusable old insulation, and building a frame to support the new tongue and groove timber floor. New glass mineral wool insulation that is non-combustible was laid to the recommended 300 mm depth.
A central light and switch were installed and a folding loft ladder provides access.
The loft now provides 16 sq m of well-protected accessible storage space. Click on this link for an interactive 360 view
Long term residents of traditional semi-detached house decided to demolish existing polycarbonate conservatory and rebuild on existing foundations. This incorporated the small kitchen extension and the whole area re-roofed.. The interior was remodelled and transformed the ground floor into a spacious, light, comfortable and functional space.

We are helping a client to transform an 8-bedroomed HMO property with 3.5m high ceilings into a magnificent, functional home incorporating some of the original and traditional design features.
Initially two sitting rooms were knocked into one large light living space for a kitchen and sitting area.
The demolition required the use of scaffolding internally and installation of four new steel beams. These have been left exposed for a dramatic touch.

Leaking tiles and dipping ridge meant time for a change - from accumulated clutter to functional workshop and storage area. New roof timbers and tiles covered a fully insulated interior. A new side door opens on to a step down to a concrete floor, and the old garage entrance is replaced with a window and decorative brick wall.
Changing family circumstances and clients' shared love of cooking sparked a dream of a larger, more functional kitchen and dining area where family and friends have space to socialise. A rear extension was designed to suit the budget and every requirement.

DK Building were asked to completely gut a shop unit which had previously been used as a hairdressing salon and fit it out as a clothes store as soon as possible. The purchase had taken longer than expected and the team were under considerable pressure time-wise to get the shop open for business. The work included stripping out the sinks/plumbing, central heating system, electrical system, dividing wall, toilets and panelling. Unsurprisingly the original quote had to be amended as plans changed. Some bare brick walls were exposed and the client decided to keep those as a feature. One wall was replastered and painted, but the bricks were an attractive element and merely sealed. It was originally hoped to level the floor, but in the end this was covered with chipboard and sealant. There was a tight budget to adhere to and in spite of the changes and delays along the way, we kept fairly close to it. It was very satisfying to see the shop stocked and open for business.
Read lessWe are very happy with all the work carried out by DK Building Services, completely refurbishing the third floor of our house and internally insulating it. It was trouble free and they worked hard to minimise any mess and disruption. They cleaned up everyday and took real pride in their work which was completed to a very high standard. I would not hesitate to recommend to friends, and would always use them again in the future.
Professional and reliable company with friendly and helpful builders. The team communicate well and were always listening and responding to what we wanted. The work was completed to a very high standard and the attention to detail was impressive. Thank you!
We employed DK Building to create a new kitchen and open up some space to give us a more sociable space for dining and provide a greater capacity for hosting guests. We had some pretty clear ideas of our own and Daniel helped us turn them into reality. The transformation involved bricking up the back door and creating a new entrance. An internal door was also bricked up, and the whole kitchen/dining area was expertly replastered. A new kitchen was installed and a new radiator fixed to the wall in the dining area. DK Building are very competent, quick and efficient workers - tidy, orderly and respectful. The work took about 3 weeks - as scheduled. Daniel proved to be a very successful problem-solver – handling the usual minor disruptions in a very efficient manner. We are delighted with the end result and find our new kitchen space works very effectively for us.
Our garage is not big enough for a modern car and therefore not used as such. This together with the need for an extra bedroom made us think about investing money in a garage conversion. We discussed our ideas with Daniel and eventually went ahead with the project. A new ceiling and insulation was built in to the roof space and the walls were insulated and plastered. The central heating boiler is situated in the garage and we considered removing it, but the cost was prohibitive and so Daniel designed the work around it. The original garage door was removed and replaced with a wall and window; and a new door installed between the kitchen and the "South Wing" - as we now call it! The end result is absolutely fantastic and we are looking forward to using our new space after we have decorated in the new year. There are obvious tangible results: the house is now a 4-bedroom property and I shall be able to use the original small third bedroom as a home office. I believe the value of the house has been increased by more than double the cost of the work. We are delighted and I have already recommended DK Building to some friends.

We had a tight budget and in spite of the changes along the way, Daniel helped us keep fairly close to it . Whenever we encountered a hitch, we had a direct line to Daniel who was remarkably adaptable and resolved everything to our satisfaction. This was not an easy job and Daniel and his team were very good. I don't think we could have done it any better.
The work was outstanding. It’s exactly what I asked for. They came on time – just as they said - and worked all day, in spite of it being cold and damp. They just carried on until they had finished. They tidied up after themselves – as much as you can with cement on concrete! They were all very nice and polite – and they smiled all the time. I would definitely recommend Daniel and his team.
Delighted Finally, I was in a position to create the kitchen of my dreams which involved an extension and a knock through of two existing rooms. I was initially filled with trepidation and a little daunted at the prospect of commencing the project. I therefore met with four contractors for a site visit and the opportunity to discuss the project and voice any concerns. I was immediately impressed with Daniel, DK Building from his initial on-site visit, as he listened to my areas of concern and addressed them as well as raising some additional points which none of the other contractors had highlighted. The project started in January, Daniel’s project management was fantastic and there was always regular communication and I was aware of each stage of the work. Daniel ensured that the disruption to the family was minimized and the site was secured each night. All the team were punctual, polite and worked extremely hard, it was a very refreshing experience as nothing was a problem. The kitchen fitter liaised and worked closely with me and I’m delighted with the installation and the care and interest taken in the fitting. I have received so many positive comments from family, friends and neighbours, this project has made such a positive difference to our lifestyle and was conducted with great positivity and genuine enthusiasm by DK Building. I have already recommended D&K Building to family and friends without hesitation Thank you, Daniel and team, for making the job as painless as possible, I love the finished project and enjoy it each day.
Following the other comments on this site we hired DK building for a full rewire, new heating, garage conversion, new kitchen and bathroom. Daniel was timely, organised and talked us trough our options. He was very professional, quick to respond and kept us up to date all the way through the project. The project came in on budget and the prices provided through DK buildings were very competitive. The team was also very professional, friendly and happy to help. The standard of completion is to a very high standard. We are considering a loft conversion in the future and we would not hesitate to contact them again. And would highly recommend this company to others.
Daniel and his team have transformed how we live in our home. Our tired and isolated kitchen and under used and unloved dining room have now become a large south facing, sunny family kitchen where we can cook, eat, chat, welcome friends and watch television. When the sun goes down our wood burning stove and underfloor heating keep us warm and cosy. All the elements of a traditional kitchen, 21st century style. In addition to our fabulous kitchen Daniel's team have thoroughly overhauled the fabric of our home. For three months the team were here before 8am every single morning. They were genuinely a pleasure to have in our home, the quality of their work and their attention to detail was outstanding and as each person finished their part of the job, we were saying good bye to a friend we hoped we would see again. We would recommend DK Building for your project, though, save us a space for our outside landscaping please Daniel.
I have a small back courtyard, around 3m x 4m, that I wanted to tile with frost proof outdoor tiles. There was just a rather uneven, cracked concrete floor, that had a slight slope into a drain. It seemed sensible for the flow of water to still go to this drain, but a more even floor would be great. We hired Daniel and his team for this relatively small job. He came highly recommended, and did not disappoint. Daniel was exceedingly professional, great to deal with, and the work is finished to a very high standard. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend DK Building to others, and am looking forward to working with Daniel again in the near future.
DK Building refurbished a derelict and vandalised house we purchased as an investment. The job was carried out exactly to the quoted prices and standards. As we live about 140 miles from the property we were very impressed that Daniel took on the project management and if needed engaged sub contractors at fair prices. We felt that at all times we could trust the contractor and were delighted with the finished result. We were kept fully informed of progress and problems through the internet based communication platform called "Basecamp". This gave us the opportunity to discuss options and see what was happening as Daniel kept uploading pictures to Basecamp. The quotation that was provided was fully itemised and if an item was not required e.g. Re-wiring this was removed and the costs adjusted accordingly. We would definitely use DK Building again as they produced a quality finished job that was well managed and we were kept fully informed of any variations needed during the job. (DK Building has carried out two further jobs for us since this)
Daniel recently completed a kitchen refurb, which included knocking down a partitioning wall, complete re-plaster and re-wiring of lighting and electrics. The kitchen has been fitted and completed to an exceptional standard and the guys have been fantastic on the job. We shall definitely use DK Building and Plastering for any future work and I would highly recommend…….thank you Daniel and the team!
