Gareth Roddy Building Contractor is a family business, based in Lower Newtownards Peninsula, County Down. We have over 50 years of experience in the construction industry, specialising in new-builds, extensions, refurbishments and home improvements, and we are still growing.
We are committed to delivering the highest quality building service. Over the years we have developed an excellent reputation with our clients, architects, suppliers, local councils and engineers to make your building process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Gareth Roddy is a recently registered NHBC member, we provide you as a client, with warranty and insurance for new homes for up to 10 years. This gives you the peace of mind that all works are totally guaranteed. In addition, we are a member of the Federation of Master Builders, meaning that we have been vetted and pass the strict criteria.

We make sure to pay close attention to every step of the process, so whether you are relocating or expanding, we endeavour for you to gain every benefit from your property.
Landscaping & Driveways - We offer everything from turfing to driveways as well as revamping old driveways and patios. We specialise in garden refurbishment, and all work is carried out by ourselves. No work is subcontracted and we won't leave until the job is done to your satisfaction.

Gareth and his crew came highly recommended to us, they took on our extension and right from day 1 they hit the ground running. The pace of progress was astounding, the crew always turned up on time and were cheerful and friendly. Contact from Gareth was excellent with regular updates, and if they weren't going to be on site for a day or 2 he would let us know. A few extra things were needed as the build progressed but Gareth always managed to find a spare pound or 2 in the budget. My project was the renovation of a stone cottage built around 1900 which I wanted kept in traditional style with the addition of a modern barn on the side. The old cottage was always going to present some challenges due to its age but Gareth and his team dealt with any issues thoroughly in a very professional manner. Gareth understood the importance to me of keeping the integrity of the old building and we were able to expose some of the original stonework and reuse original stone to build a garden wall. Most of all I found Gareth very approachable, easy to work with and trustworthy. Contrary to what I might have expected from builders they stayed consistently on the job, often putting in more hours than expected and kept a very good level of communication throughout.
