Andrii Hashchyn's journey with Home Republic Limited exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding tradesperson. Arriving from Ukraine six years ago with limited English, lack of computer knowledge, and only his experience as a furniture production manager, Andrii began as a labourer. He quickly mastered the trade, progressing to team leader, then site manager, and now contracts manager for high-end residential projects across London. This demanding role requires extensive on-site and in-office work, along with proficiency in construction software, excellent customer service skills, and strong time management abilities.

Over the past two years, we've prioritized cultivating talent within our team, addressing a significant gap in the residential sector for small and medium-sized businesses. This commitment has included enrolling six junior team leaders in site management courses, supporting senior managers in obtaining NVQ5, NVQ7 and other leadership qualifications, and providing operatives with diverse training opportunities both on-site and in our office. We've utilized valuable resources such as FMB-powered Esteem training, the CCS Best Practice Hub, CITB schemes, and various other education providers to achieve this.

The 55-square-meter rear extension showcases a modern bespoke roof structure cladded with architectural zinc, and a floating corner, where large, floor-to-ceiling glass panels create a seamless connection between the interior and the landscaped garden. Porcelanosa kitchen tiles flowing into the rear patio are exact the same inside and outside, but with the non-slip and frost-protection capabilities externally.

In addition to the stylish interiors, the landscaped garden enhances the outdoor living experience, offering a tranquil retreat that feels like a natural extension of the home.

The main objective of this project was to redevelop existing dull basement space consisting of two storage rooms and a garage into a luxurious, boutique-hotel-inspired bar and relaxation space.

Basement renovation was one of the parts of a large project (an overall house renovation) that we were creating for our clients over a period of time.

Maximize Natural Light: The design capitalized on the abundance of natural light by incorporating two skylights, creating a bright and airy space.

- Optimize the Pitched Roof Space: The layout cleverly utilizes the sloping ceilings and available space, seamlessly integrating a freestanding bathtub, a spacious shower, and a double vanity unit.

- Create a Luxurious Retreat: High-quality fixtures, a neutral colour palette, and thoughtful lighting contribute to a sense of luxury and serenity.

- Emphasize Functionality: Storage is maximized with recessed shelving and spacious vanity units, ensuring practicality without compromising aesthetics.

- Promote Sustainability: Incorporating water-efficient fixtures and durable materials minimizes environmental impact.

- Façade retention project - only front and side walls were preserved.

- Complete open-plan with over 80 steel beams with the total weight of over 40 tonnes overall.

- Smart lighting control system. Sophisticated electrical design including AV, integrated security & CCTV, programmable door access, smart fire alarm system, etc.

- Luxurious professional event hall on the ground floor with smart stage, live social media recording, AV room, etc

- Movable partitions on the 1st floor to allow for either a large additional hall or 8 separate class rooms

- Additional floor under roof to allow for 3 studios, an office and a separate VIP area

- Cleverly raised front garden design and landscaping to create and integrate outdoor venue space not previously present

- Professional kitchen with potential to serve up to 300 people

- The small, but cleverly designed corner-shaped new building created an outstanding completion to the previously "unfinished" cut-off terrace and incurred a lot of very positive attention from Wimbledon residents

- Sustainable new build in one of busiest streets in London, fully electric with solar panels on top of the roof, super high spec insulation and ventilation, extreme specs subbase to ensure stability in the very unique plot and in order to retain the tree in the closest proximity

- Sophisticated rainwater connection system under the road, as the plot was limited by it's shape between the two roads and was unable to sustain soakaway

Covid-19: we ensured total protection for our clients and professionals by providing everyone with relevant branded safety equipment, separating working teams and working hours, arranging flexible approach to site visits and meetings (e.g. out of hours or online)

Materials and labour cost rises and supply delays: many our projects last over a year, so working with old quotes in the new prices' world is not easy. We ensure that we provide the most accurate, detailed and professional quotations and programmes of work with critical events, so that our clients have complete understanding of the price they would need to pay, decisions they would need to make and timeline they would need to accommodate to
