We at JHL Construction Ltd ("JHL") are a leading family-run construction business with over 50 years' experience primarily in serving the West Midlands region, though have historically also worked on a national basis. Our commitment to the industry has seen us successfully deliver all different types of construction projects, from luxury seafront apartments to bespoke residential care facilities.
The story of JHL is one that goes back to the 1980s, when Director Howard originally obtained his City & Guilds Carpentry qualification at Tarmac Homes. Following a successful apprenticeship, he went on to create his own construction company which saw him build all types of developments, from a 30-house development in Oswestry to a multi-million block of luxury apartments in Newquay.
Today, he co-directs the business with son Jake who’s had a trowel in his hand since he could stand. Together, their combined expertise underpinned by the extensive team means that JHL is capable of taking on all forms of construction projects.

Another of our projects was the building of an extension in Birmingham, which enabled the client to more than double the downstairs floor space in addition to putting in a beautiful open kitchen diner.

Renovation and extension Pattingham Staffordshire. JHL Construction, Howard , Jake and the rest of the crew have been working on a project to renovate and extend semi detached property in Pattingham, I was seconded to project management the build for my son and his future wife, I must say it’s been an absolute pleasure, any issues or design changes have been quickly and professionally incorporated. The day to day communication, cleanliness , safety and progress have been well managed, all the team have been friendly and very helpful. We’re nearing the end of the project, with Howard and Jake fitting the Kitchen and laying the flooring. The house is SUPERB and has a brand new feel in what was an older traditional property,.
