The clients had bought the house a few years before and had been working on some drawings with their architect . the aim was to vault the kitchen ceiling which was a flat 2.4 ceiling previous , add light by adding 4 large gable windows and a row of roof windows . There is an amazing view from the kitchen so we also added new patio sliding doors. The biggest part of the project was building a large new balcony with extensive engineered steel work frame and an amazing slab finish with glass balustrade The aim with this balcony was to provide the clients a place to sit and look over the amazing sea view.

The project had to start with some rapid underpinning and support to prevent a complete collapse. The end result made all the hard work worthwhile, however, combining a traditional appearance with a modern functional interior.
