We have used New Nostalgia for multiple building works, after the first time, we never went anywhere else as we were so pleased with their work. The work was always completed to a very high standard by people who were a pleasure to work with. In particular, Gary’s vision and understanding of space made him more valuable than an architect we had employed! I would and have had no problem recommending them to anyone.

New Nostalgia undertook a number of important upgrades to our 5* holiday cottages. It was a very successful collaboration, they provided thoughtful advice and support as we were working with listed buildings. Their team were respectful of existing business continuing alongside and integrated well with our staff and visitors.They made the job very easy to manage and completed it on time. I would highly recommend them.as a dedicated professional team, with old fashioned values and hard working ethic.

Gary and New Nostalgia visited our cottage, which is right on the Menai Strait with stunning views. The cottage however needed a lot of TLC restoration. Gary's team managed stripping everything back to flint/slate, then rebuilt the inside and the outside back out to the very highest of standard, taking care of ALL the little details as if it was their own house they were refurbishing, we both felt we could trust every decision they made, because they had our best interests at heart. I would also mention that Gary particularly was/is very creative at solving many of the tricky details/problems, too many to mention, one worthy of note, was a suspended steel deck, of which he secured all the necessary permissions on our behalf, the finished result was simply stunning, we have been spoilt, and wouldn't hesitate to use Gary and New Nostalgia again, we have no problem, what so ever, recommending them, we are delighted.

Gary has helped me with renovating my mid-1800's semi-detached cottage. He has a deep knowledge of old houses, how they're built and how they're best maintained. He talked me through the work I wanted, helped me understand what was involved in each step and helped me to find the best options within my budget. I really couldn't recommend Gary and his team more highly. Fabulous work.

Gary and his team renovated a Grade II* listed Georgian terrace for us. We had no idea what we would discover in the process: broken purlins, buried cellars, woodworm, collapsing ceilings, you name it, Gary and the team coped with it all. Whether we needed electrics, plumbing, heating, structural steel, brickwork, roofing, joinery or decoration, they did it all. We now have a beautifully restored property that will be good for another 250 years no doubt.

I purchased a Victorian terrace cottage with 1980s decor that needed updating. Not being from the local area I struggled to find a builder. Gary was recommended to me by the estate agent. On first meeting he spent over an hour at the property discussing my " vision" of opening it up with rear ground floor extension and french doors to the front. With kitchen and bathroom installation. He listened offering practical advice. He also suggested where the few original features could be repurposed. Work commenced promptly and I found the builders and tradesmen friendly and professional. Happy to discuss slight changes that were needed. Work went pretty much to schedule apart from slight delay of french doors and suntube due to suppliers. I am very happy with the end result and now settled in my new home. Price wise this was reasonable. Though as with many builds went over budget mainly with extra work required and some material costs. Thankyou New Nostalgia.

5 stars to New Nostalgia for building our extension. Quite a complicated job and the lads were here from 8am every day whatever the weather. A good bunch of lads, hard working and the results are quality! Very focused on making sure we got the best out of the work they did, making storage space out of every nook and cranny. Our house is transformed thanks to Gary and his team. (also thanks for laying a patio at the end of the job!)

I'm very pleased to be able to say how happy I am with the professional workmanship provided by New Nostalgia. They designed and built my conservatory and patio area to a very high standard. I was so impressed that during the construction I decided to ask Gary to design and landscape the garden area. Even though this was never planned Gary did not hesitate and fitted into his busy schedule. I can highly recommend Gary and his professional, friendly staff who all work to a very high standard for a very reasonable price. Nothing was to much trouble and I would not hesitate to use them again in future.

We were recommended to New Nostalgia and couldn’t be more pleased with the building work they have carried out on our late Victorian house. Gary Grierson and his team demonstrated pride in their work and were a pleasure to work with. Their communication was good and they went to great lengths to source authentic materials and products to match the existing house. The quality of their work is excellent with the new brickwork and roof tiles blending in perfectly. To coin a phrase, you can’t see the join! Gary made constructive suggestions during the build, which were sensible and valuable. We had confidence in New Nostalgia from the outset and it was not misplaced.

From your first initial visit to the site when you made it safe and cleared up the rubble to the end of the job, your work was outstanding. Your guidance was invaluable and we are delighted with the quality of the work. The bricks were of best quality with a lime mortar mix. Your team worked so well and tidied up brilliantly at the end. We engaged with Gary at New Nostalgia for a full renovation of our 1750s Grade II listed townhouse. We new that Gary was perfect for this project as he came with a great reputation, references, and knowledge. The advice that we received from New Nostalgia was critical to the success of the project. I can't praise Gary and his team highly enough, they have done a magnificent job on our Victorian town house kitchen extension. This was by no means a straight forward project, it's an old house with lots of unknowns plus restricted access but every unforseeable issue was overcome with professionalism and good humour. The lads were considerate, worked hard and kept the site tidy. From start to finish the communication was excellent, Gary and David were always at the end of the phone when a question came to mind. I couldn't be happier with the quality of work, my house is transformed! I have no hesitation in highly recommending New Nostalgia and wish them all the best for the future.

I would highly recommend New Nostalgia. Their work and attention to detail is always carried out to an excellent standard. I have used their expertise on two occasions. The first being on a cottage property that was virtually demolished and then rebuilt, incorporating some very initiative ideas from Gary. The end product was a great credit to them, which has drawn many favourable comments. The second was an extension and alterations to a bungalow, once again excellent service and outstanding quality. Would use no one else but New Nostalgia for any future work.

This was the second job we had completed by New Nostalgia and like the first it was a very positive experience. While the first job was a fairly major development of our property the second one was a simpler single story extension. The work was completed on time and with very little disruption to our day to day life. The site was kept clean at the end of the day and safe at all times. As we have young children with us the safety of the site was very important. The whole team were all highly experienced and good company As with many jobs there were changes to the original concept but many of the these were due to ourselves or positive and pro-active suggestions by NN. These changes did not cause any delays. Any issues that arose or changes that had to be made; on both jobs, were resolved quickly and through discussion with us. I would be happy to use NN again at any time and regularly recommend the company to friends and relatives. However, I would suggest you lock up your cookies!
