Oak frame and design for a small 2 bedroom bungalow with a large verandah in a secluded spot in the Blackdown hills. Completly self sufficient, built to Passivhaus standards with solar, woodfibre insulation and clayboard walls. We completed the frame, roof and walls and the clients are doing the final finishes on their own. My perfect house!!! (DM)

An unusual and complex roof structure to a 250 yr old cornish stone building. The stucture consists of 3 hips, 1 valley and an Arched brace truss all supported on a concrete ring beam with custom made stainless steel brackets. All to create a roof which seemingly has no support and 'floats' above the bedroom. Still under further construction undertaken by the clients.

A complex and challenging structure. The building is listed and the remit was to remove the central supports and form a new roof structure for the thatched roof which would be supported only on the peripheral walls to create a clear central area. All without removing the thatch!! Everything had to be winched up and assembled by hand. But looks pretty good now.

Covering over an existing courtyard we created a stunning oak sling brace structure to support the new roof. All timbers had a hand adzed finish. To complete the work we clothed the exterior walls with a faux oak frame which was K-rend infilled.

Our first ever traditionally cut building. Built on the site where there had been an existing barn using local Larch and some small amount of the reclaimed oak from the original building. It was made to accomodate a workshop for a tea tasting expert and we had a special tea-pot weathervane made for them.
