The project followed on from completing a large renovation for the clients, the clients had another project on the premises that they decided they wanted us to carry out a small renovation on, this was more for a cosmetic uplift as the property was going to be used as a holiday let. The client was aware that Zoe, our project and office manager is completing an interior design course and asked if she would carry out the interior design on the property. The small renovation includes, panelling to the bedroom and hall, decoration throughout, new flooring and a kitchen reconfiguration and decorating including new handles and worktop. The cost were to be kept to a minimum whilst giving the property a new look.

The property was a sail loft and boat store and has been renovated into a studio flat on the first floor with a home gym and boat storage/garage on the ground floor. The objective was to keep as many original features as possible whilst creating a comfortable and stylish space.

The property is full of character and it was important to keep as much original features as possible, a lot of the stone remains and has been tidied and repainted to make good, the property was tanked and products such as the bricks were sourced to match the existing, underfloor heating was added but the uneven floor was kept to keep the character. All window openings kept and enhanced with new windows and doors.

This project consisted of as full refurbishment to a grade 2 listed building, including a new ceiling to the first floor, paying and replacing much of the lath and plaster, complete re decorating, new floor finishes and new fixtures and new bathroom and kitchen. With the property being hundreds of years old, many of the unique period features have been kept or uncovered, whilst creating a stylish and equally modernised look.
