The main objective of the project was to provide off-site constructed building enclosure components for the Richard Rodgers Gallery Art Gallery situated in the 500 acre grounds of Chateaux La Coste, Provence, in the South of France – a challenging location that required precise planning and clever engineering.

Further to successfully completing an off-site construction project for Claridge’s Hotel in London, Setanta Construction were honoured to be asked to manufacture the enclosure components for this project at Chateau La Coste, France. A complex build, the state-of-the-art Gallery was designed by the late Richard Rogers of RSHP Architects. Setanta Construction worked with a wide team of top professionals throughout the UK and Europe who brought together proficient knowledge and supplied specialist components during particular phases of the build.

We are proud of what we have achieved between 2019 and 2020. We have won contracts for unique projects such as supplying off-site components to globally recognised companies such as the Claridges Hotel Group and expanding our premises to approx. 50,000 sqft of workshop/factory space.

One achievement in particular that we at Setanta are most proud of was winning £138,000 of support from Invest Northern Ireland towards R&D and job creation. This has enabled us to develop unique new off-site solutions and enter new markets, for example providing off-site dormer windows to the Claridges Hotel London.

In addition, we project to employee 12 additional staff to our team to facilitate with this additional growth, this makes us incredibly proud to support our community with jobs.

Our overall achievements has grown our turnover by 20% from the beginning of 2019 to the end of 2020.

The build was … Read more Setanta Construction Ltd won the title of best Energy Efficient Project at the FMB Master Builder Awards for this modern farmhouse in Dunloy, County Antrim.
The build was designed to meet both PassivHaus and zero carbon standards, something achieved by only a handful of buildings in the UK. To reach the PassivHaus standard, Setanta had to undertake numerous tests and checks of the project's thermal performance and suitability, as well as measuring airtightness every hour for the entire duration of the project.
The finished result is a high-performing building, offering a healthy living space with much lower running costs than the average house. The inclusion of Photovoltaic solar panels means that the heating, hot water and lighting bills amount to zero, and even makes the home owner extra money, with a residual fund of £150.
The build had its fair share of challenges, with a six month deadline and a start date at the beginning of a particularly wet January meaning that the project had a slow start. One of the directors of Setanta, Mark Gribbin, explains the process:
"The client’s mortgage was significantly reduced prior to starting onsite, making it necessary to make changes to the brief to reduce costs without sacrificing any of the architectural integrity, floor space or performance. This was done by value engineering every thermal element and junction of the build, as well as the electrical and heating layouts and sourcing end of run items at a fraction of the original cost. This led to a very open and bilateral design process with our clients, meaning we bounced ideas around on construction methods, material selections and finer details of the design. We were both delighted with the final property, not only for its efficient qualities but the overall look and feel of the modern living space.”
