The other picture below that is the extension we added on, which in actual fact returned around the corner and around the side of house, there was also big structural alterations inside to open the house out upstairs and down. Our team and clients were very happy with the end result.

We wanted a sympathetic ground floor extension to the side of our 1843 stone-built house, with french doors and a lantern roof. Shear construction came to our attention via recommendations from others in 'the trade' and by visiting another local job. We liked their approach and felt involved and listened to throughout the project. The lads were friendly and polite and always cleaned up before they left. Attention to detail was first rate and this shows in the quality of the build, which we are delighted with. Any queries were dealt with quickly and efficiently and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for similar projects.

Shear Construction built an extended wall and project managed the scheme which was to fit electric gates to the entrance. They did this professionally, the builders were polite and constructed an excellent wall with curved as well as straight sections.

Shear Construction did a fantastic job at our property, building a combined garage, workshop and office from scratch, as well as laying extensive new patio with edging and re-pointing parts of the house. We would have no hesitation in highly recommending Adam and his team. Every step of the way Adam took care to explain the best options available to us to ensure building regs compliance and also, where possible, to keep costs reasonable. The work ethic of Adam, and every single tradesman in his team, was exceptional and we're really happy with the outcome of all the works, all of which was carried out very professionally. From start to completion of our extension Adam and his team’s attention to detail was more than we could have hoped for. We were kept informed at all stages and Adam always had time to explain if we were unclear on anything. He was happy to accommodate any small changes we wanted and if any unforeseen issues arose he found a solution. We were kept informed on cost and progress. We would definitely recommend Adam and his whole team at Shear Construction.
Early in the project a couple of issues arose, which were not of their making. Adam was quick to come up with a solution that allowed everything to proceed with minimal delay. Throughout the build they were always considerate that they were working in our home.
The end result is all that we had hoped for and more. Although the work is now complete Adam remains contactable for the inevitable minor snags, which he has been quick to deal with.
