Two Storey Modern Extension

Our client’s vision was to build a 70m2 two storey extension to integrate with their period 18th century country home.
The swimming pool was covered and protected throughout the build. The heat source pump and filter equipment were disconnected, services re-routed to the new dedicated plant room – and recommissioned after the build.
A ‘concrete’ grey composite cladding combined with triple sliding aluminium doors to both the garden pool terrace and first floor balcony, with its fabulous views across the Meon Valley.
The bespoke oak staircase required very careful planning at survey stage to ensure compliance with building regulations – while providing all the desired features of oak construction, open treads and structural glass.
The bespoke kitchen and leisure areas were kept warm by an upgraded oil-fired boiler feeding an underfloor heating system.

Bespoke extension to house a luxury swim spa

The purpose of this extension was unusal as it was to house a large wave riding swim spa - integrated into the floor.
The 1.5m deep reinforced & waterproofed pit was prepared for the 5.3 x 3.8m pool to be craned into before the walls and roof of the extension could be built around it.
An 8sqm roof lantern installed in the flat roof and 10sqm triple sliding doors were installed facing the well maintained garden
Drainage installed to manage surface water and an emergency bilge pump will kick in and empty the tanked pit in the event of flood or malfunction.
Underfloor heating installed under the large format porcelain tile floor

They completed a 2nd storey, tandem garage conversion, rear extension, three new bathrooms and a new kitchen, and whole-of-house refurbishment. The workmanship was spot on and the fitters John, Jay and Shane each brought their individual strengths the project each with millimetre perfect work. With virtually no input from the Spa company as they have never installed one in ground or indoors, ours was always going to be a difficult build. However no one envisaged just how difficult it would prove, digging a pit for a Swimspa in the wettest February on record followed by a worldwide pandemic. They had to overcome major build issues, supply issues, a stressed client and a few heated debates along the way. What the core team managed to achieve really is quite exceptional. The quality of the build and finish, tidiness of Shane's team (considering this was maintained over a prolonged period of time is a testament to the tradesmen and their pride in their work). Their design and problem solving over key issues invaluable. Help and advice on mid build amendments and the addition of a bespoke glass cloakroom ensured the end result has proved to be a beautiful and life changing addition to our home. We have now had our bathroom, kitchen and most recently our loft converted by Simon and the team. The first two projects were finished on time and with great results and we are very happy customers. The final project for the loft conversion has been challenging, we had 2 huge hurricanes and Covid 19 since February so extremely challenging times but I can say they adapted to each headache we all faced through no fault of their own and kept me updated on all the changes to the project and timelines due to Covid 19.
