Business is bouncing back in the South according to our members in the region, and the crowds at the Homebuilding and Renovating Show in Farnborough on 15-16 January certainly indicated there is strong demand for building work.

The first HB&R Show of 2022 was packed with nearly 9,000 homeowners looking for advice and inspiration for their next home renovation project.

As an exhibition partner, the FMB attends the HB&R shows across the UK to help promote the Find a Builder service and to raise awareness of the benefits of choosing a Master Builder company. We also offer guidance to homeowners, many who are embarking on their first home renovation project, about the steps to consider.

Across the two days of the Farnborough show, we were consistently busy at the FMB stand with hundreds of visitors stopping by to ask for advice on finding building professionals to make their dream projects come true. Discussions about the FMB's series of ultimate guides to home renovation projects also proved popular among visitors.

Seeking expert advice at the Advice Centre

At the show, FMB members also offered advice through the popular Advice Centre feature, where homeowners can book 15-minute appointments with a range of home renovation experts including FMB members, architects, and finance and planning professionals.

The appointment slots with FMB members were quickly booked out for the two days. Thank you to the FMB members in the region who dedicated their time to the Advice Centre at the Farnborough Show including City Lofts Londonwide LimitedAnderson Contractors and DGH Building Ltd.

In addition to the stand and Advice Centre, I also delivered a presentation at the Masterclass Theatre at the Show, which was well attended, to offer advice on how to choose the right building contractor for your project. If you missed the presentation, you can check out our ultimate guide on how to choose a builder.

Promoting Master Builders in the South

It was great to see other members in the region take part in the show and proudly promote their Master Builder status including Refresh Renovations and Luxuria Property. Thank you also to FMB member Biocraft Ltd who supported our presence at the show.

Join us at the next HB&R Show

If you missed us at the Farnborough Show, there are plenty more shows planned for this year across the UK.

As a member, if you'd like to get involved in the Advice Centre at future shows where you can offer expert advice and meet prospective clients, please get in touch. Members are also welcome to join us at the FMB stand to help offer advice to visitors and meet prospective clients in a more informal setting. If you’d like to be part of this then please contact me at [email protected].
