Hillside, Nr Churchill, Axminster

This project is for my own self build.
We are currently constructing a new replacement dwelling in the garden where we live. The photo's show the foundation stage of the build.
This project is scheduled to be completed near the end of the year.

Phase 3 together with landscaping and retaining walls

Phase three at Mitchell Gardens consisted of a block of five 3 Bedroomed houses along with eight 1 & 2 bedroomed apartments. This phase was finished in late 2016 and took about eight months to complete.
The construction method during this phase was timber framed allowing the units to be very individual in design and very practical to live in.
 
These photo's show the foundation stage. At the outset we found that poor ground conditions meant a structural engineer would be required to design a piled foundation together with a ringbeam reinforced steel footing. This was designed by an engineer we use in these situations and the job was handed over to a specialist foundation company who had the nessacary piling rig. Once the foundation was installed we then took the site back over and completed the units. owing to our experience and expertise in these situations we were able to overcome this potentially disastrous situation with little effect on time frame or build budget. If you have a site where the ground conditions are poor I urge you to get in contact with us so we can discuss a way forward with no obligation.
