The Oaklands was designed as a Passivhaus certified scheme. The project was completed in 2020 and is currently undergoing its final certification.Any challenge for a low energy home is guaranteeing air tightness. The Oaklands in particular was a challenge given the shape and form of the building; however, this was delivered within the passivhaus standard.
The Field House is a low energy house completed in in 2018. The project was designed and built to passivhaus standards, however the client decided not to seek formal certification. The project included a number of high-quality bespoke joinery elements.
Somerfoss is an existing house built along the edge of a rock face on a hidden valley in Somerset. Our works included extending the original property and undertaking a full refurbishment of the existing area. The main challenge for this project was the logistics. The building is situated half way up the hillside, with access via a small lane from the main road above.A key reason for the success of this project was our ability to re-design the scheme and finalise the detailed design to ensure it was both cost effective and possible to build safely.
