The ye old school was an interesting project, the clients wanted the build to blend in with the original building. With the use of traditional building materials such as green oak framing, reclaimed tiles to match exciting roof, natural, stone and sandstone. We think we achieved this and more importantly the clients and the Local Authority Building Inspector thought so as well. Which got us all the way to the final of the Southwest LABC Awards.

P.A.P Building Services a family business run by Paul and Nicki Phelan were named by the Federation of Master Builders as South West Regional Winner (category 2) for their work on The Cottage Gallery The Borough Wedmore Somerset. Wedmore residents and people passing through the village will have seen The Cottage Gallery taking shape over a period of six months or so. The project transformed a dilapidated filling station forecourt and workshop into a superb dwelling and attractive new retail gallery. The Cottage Galley opened to the public on 8th September 2007 and features quality British art and crafts including jewellery pottery sculpture and painting. Jan Beer owner of The Cottage Gallery comments:"This was a challenging project through which P.A.P were fantastic to work with bending over backwards to meet my high expectations and ultimately providing me with a first class home which is full of character and a superb retail environment all finished to the highest standards". Many of the features of the original building were revealed including oak beams and flagstone floors however the main workshop structure at the rear of the premises had its roof removed to make an attractive walled garden and the retail area of the gallery is all new. This extends forward onto what was the filling station forecourt however it is built in the style of the original building and in precise keeping with the rest of the village. Paul Phelan Managing Director of P.A.P comments: "The Cottage Gallery was a challenging yet rewarding project to work on and it was simply fantastic to have our hard work acknowledged by the Federation of Master Builders."
