Ross and his team carried out a lot of work for us. We wanted to remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room to allow us to have a more open plan living space. Along with this we wanted to replace an existing small window on our outside wall with a more standard sized window to give us more natural light. The final big part of the work required the sun room, dining room, kitchen and living room ceilings completely replaced. The sun room required the most work due to cracks and falling plaster due to previous poor workmanship. Smaller jobs included building up a doorway in the living room and plastering a number of walls. For the new kitchen, one thing to note would be the fact we were told by the kitchen supplier that we couldn't have an outside extractor fan, but Ross wouldn't let that beat him and eventually figured it out! All this work was carried out whilst myself, my pregnant wife, and my 2 year old son were still living in the house. We cannot speak highly enough of Ross; his attitude and work ethic coupled with a great personality made it such a stress free and actually enjoyable experience for us. We are absolutely over the moon with the end result! - Jonny

Ross and his team carried out renovation work on our bungalow in Larne. Ross is friendly and knowledgeable and we found his quote to be very competitive. As we had never used builders before, we were worried about the mess and disturbance as we have 2 young children and required quite a few changes to our home. We were very impressed with how tidy the house was left every day and found Ross to be hard working, well organised and reliable. We are very happy with the standard of the building work that was carried out and the speed at which it was completed. We also asked Ross to complete some additional work for us such as installing a wood burning stove, laminate floor and new doors. We have had many comments from family and friends on the great job that was done. We would not hesitate to recommend RMC Building and joinery to anyone in the future. - Michael

I employed RMC Building & Joinery to complete the first phase of renovations to my 1930s semi in East Belfast. This included: - removal of rotten suspended floor and replacement with solid floor, including DPM, DPC to adjacent walls, and ensuring all electrics and plumbing running through the hall had been appropriately upgraded. - reconfiguration of the kitchen and hall by removing two walls and insertion of structural supporting beams, a new stud wall, electrics and replastering - full damp proof course to ground floor - opening of two chimney breasts with fireback inserted into one and the other prepared for installation of stove - new panelling and bannister for stairs All work was carried out to Building Control Specifications or higher. As with many older properties, additional problems were uncovered once work began, however, Ross’ knowledge and skills meant that he was always able to present solutions and assist in making the best decisions. Ross always took time to explain both the problem and the solution which provided reassurance that problems were being addressed and dealt with appropriately. Observing how Ross never settles for poor quality work or covers up problems took so much of the stress out of this process. I will certainly be employing RMC Building & Joinery in the future and have no hesitation in recommending this firm. - Andrea

I have employed Ross McCrea (RMC) in numerous and varied capacities over a number of years. These have included digging up and relaying a complete driveway, laying a new patio, repointing, sourcing and erecting a shed, building and erecting substantial gates, rebuilding walls, and also replacing guttering. In one case, although it was not part of his remit, he resolved an enduring and serious problem for me. I have never been reluctant to re-engage him. His work has always been carefully planned and prepared, and his workmanship never short of outstanding. Neighbours have also been impressed with the results. He never cuts corners and strives hard to resolve any encountered or unexpected problems. His workmanship is complemented by his courteous and amiable disposition. I have absolutely no reservations about recommending Ross. - Keith

We were fortunate to engage RMC Builders and Joinery (“RMC”) for the completion of several projects at our house in the Greater Belfast area. The primary project involved the significant rebuild of the rear of the two storey house including kitchen extension. This involved demolition work, masonry work, inserting new steel framework, replacing windows and doors, replacing roofing, laying substructure and new flooring. RMC ensured the work was completed to a high standard within our budget and allotted timescale. They kept us abreast of developments throughout the project, managed the project efficiently and effectively (including liaising with the other parties such as the structural engineer, plumber, electrician etc.) whilst consulting with us on potential improvements. There were a number of complex issues involved with our project but RMC communicated these clearly and worked with us throughout each step to overcome these issues. Importantly, RMC also completed the work with care and we were impressed with the clean and tidy approach to their work. We would highly recommend RMC Builders and Joinery. We were delighted with their professional attitude and quality of work throughout. - Andrew
