1. Can I enter more than one project?
Yes! Enter as many projects as you wish. Just make sure that every nomination form entered is completed by a satisfied client.
2. When does the competition close?
The competition closes for entries on September 6th 2010. Any entries sent in after this date will be kept for the next MBOY awards in 2011/2012.
3. Am I eligible to enter?
The awards are open to the whole industry (not just FMB members). Any building projects completed between August 1st 2008 and September 6th 2010 can be entered. All entry forms must be completed by satisfied clients, who are not related to the builder.
See the full terms and conditions.
4. What is the awards process/When will I hear if I have been successful?
Once your completed nomination form has reached us it will be independently reviewed. All entries making it on to the regional shortlist will be visited and assessed by a member of the judging panel. Our regional office will contact you to make arrangements for any such visit.
Once all the entries have been reviewed, the Regional Director for your area will write to you to tell you if you have been successful at regional level. This will take place in October/November 2010.
Regional category winners will then go forward and be considered for the national award in their category. As a regional winner, you’ll be invited to attend the national awards ceremony to be held in London in March 2011, where the national winners and overall Master Builder of the Year will be announced.
5. Can I see examples of previous winning projects?
Yes! See 2008 MBOY winners.
6. The building work is finished but the space is not decorated yet, can I still enter?
Unfortunately not. All projects have to be 100% finished and fully decorated to be eligible.
7. When will I know who has won the national award?
The names of national award winners are kept top secret until the actual awards event where the winners are announced. Following this, winner’s details will be posted on our website and in the FMB’s Master Builder magazine.
8. What are the competition prizes?
All regional category award winners will receive a framed certificate celebrating their achievement, and will be invited to the national awards ceremony in London, where they will be treated to a 3 course gala awards lunch, entertainment and the chance of winning a national award.
All national category award winners and their clients will win a fantastic weekend break for two at any of the Barceló Hotels across the UK.
