Bathroom Project - Excel Home Design Ltd (Cymru)

Excel Home Design Ltd have lived up to their name with the creation of this luxury ensuite bathroom. The new vaulted ceiling features four Velux windows to accompany a redesigned main window, creating an abundance of natural light and ventilation. A stylish new bathtub has been installed within a quartz surround carefully designed to incorporate the room’s main windowsill. The bath is also fitted with a flush-mounted overflow and the taps are wall-mounted into a quartz upstand surrounding it. All the units are a bespoke design with a large integrated sink and mirror acting as a focal point, with a contrasting tile finish completing a gorgeous aesthetic.

Bathroom Project - Modplan Building & Refurbishment Contractors Ltd (Eastern)

This project saw Modplan Building & Refurbishment Contractors take on the extensive refurbishment of a Grade II Listed property, including the demolition and replacement of an exterior barn. The new barn consists of a timber frame built using materials reclaimed from the original, and features striking vaulted ceilings and external timber cladding. This modern bathroom is housed within the new structure together with a small kitchenette area, impressing the judges with "a fantastic finish in-keeping with the period but with a very modern twist." Despite logistical complications the build was delivered on-time, within budget and with a high specification of fixtures and fittings.

Bathroom Project - Home Republic Ltd (London)

Home Republic Ltd worked closely with their client right from the start on this loft ensuite bathroom redesign project; executing a challenging brief to create an open, comfortable space within the confines of the sloped ceilings. The judges described the high-quality finish as “visually superb” and were impressed by the clever use of floor space and the abundance of natural light. The team provided an excellent service to their client too, who stated: “We are really happy with the results and with the quality of the units. Everything was delivered on-time and in excellent conditions.”

Bathroom Project - David Smallcombe Ltd (Midlands)

This Worcestershire project by David Smallcombe Ltd sought to create a bespoke luxury bathroom for the principle bedroom suite in a new build home, which would bring together both contemporary and natural design elements. The contemporary and minimalist bathroom features Calacatta Amber marble tiles used for the wall and floor in both brick and on-trend herringbone patterns. A bespoke oak vanity unit and matching bath pane complete a truly unique project, courtesy of this Master Builder’s talented workshop joinery professionals. The team also embraced new technologies to maintain coordination despite social distancing rules resulting from COVID-19.

Bathroom Project - Radford Construction Services Ltd (Northern Counties)

Radford Construction Services Ltd converted this old farmhouse loft into a luxury bridal suite with a large bathroom. The project saw them overcome a series of challenges including the limited space available, awkward spatial properties and limited access to the property. Working closely with their client right from the early design stages, the team have added twin showers, a large roll-top bath and twin sinks as well as a waterproof TV and mood lighting with surround-sound music. The judges described it as a “fantastic creation” and were impressed by the “brilliant communication and relationship with the client.”

Bathroom Project - Marlfield Joinery and Construction Ltd (Northern Ireland)

The judges hailed this bathroom renovation as an example of “fabulous workmanship”, displaying excellent attention to detail on the part of the builder which has resulted in “a high standard finish”. The judges also noted features such as the bespoke vanity sink unit and the whirlpool jacuzzi bath with overhead shower and acknowledged the significant preparation undertaken by Marlfield Joinery and Construction Ltd prior to starting the works. The team also developed an excellent working relationship with their client, who stated: “We love how functional the bathroom is which [means] our guests can also have that luxurious stay.”

Bathroom Project - M C K Construction (Scotland)

This stunning bathroom project saw M C K Construction install an underfloor heating system to keep toes toasty on the fresh new tiles, whilst a skirted freestanding bath serves as a wonderful focal point, complete with wall-mounted lever shower. The continental shower features a swivel panel with a chrome Belgravia shower mixer and centrally fixed head, these are complemented by a wall-hung ceramic basin and traditional chrome mixer taps. A large, fitted mirror serves to bounce light around the room and make an already spacious bathroom seem even bigger, completing a wonderful space for the client to relax in.

Bathroom Project - Bespoke Living Construction Ltd (Southern Counties)

This renovation of a 300-year-old traditional thatched home included a spacious new bathroom bathed in natural light from the vaulted ceilings and velux windows. The bathroom renovation is complete with a shower, bathtub and dual sinks furnished with gorgeous porcelain tiles. Heating elements usually reserved for underfloor positioning have been installed in the walls in an innovative approach to optimising the space and draw energy from a ground-source heat pump. The wood panelling adds texture and warmth, completing a fine finish that welcomes you into the room. The judges were impressed by Bespoke Living Construction’s clear communication with the client and the wider community, ensuring a great working relationship and excellent customer satisfaction.

Bathroom Project - Alford Construction (South West)

Working closely with their client during the design stage, this dual bathroom fitout by Alford Construction is a wonderful example of what a close working relationship can achieve. Making clever use of contrasting textures and surfaces and showcasing some exceptional joinery skills, the team increased the floor area in the bathrooms allowing for the addition of a free-standing bath and a double wall-mounted sink. With high ceilings further enhancing the sense of space, their clients were thrilled with the result, stating:

We really enjoyed working with Peter and his team. They all focus on delivering high quality work and are thoughtful about how the finished product will look.”

Bathroom Project - IPSUM (UK) Ltd (Yorkshire and Trent)

IPSUM (UK) Ltd impressed the judges by making optimal use of this unusual space to deliver a fantastic ensuite bathroom as part of a larger extension and refurbishment project. Communicating closely with their client from the outset of the build to capture the desired aesthetic, the team installed a column and twin shower feature described by the judges as “superb”. They also acknowledged the builder’s skill in tackling the “incredibly challenging” tiling requirements in such an unconventional floorplan and hailed the finished product as a “lovely looking project in what was an awkward space.”
