NI Builder are Northern Ireland's leading trading journal, and cover a range of topics affecting the construction industry. FMB NI regularly work with them to highlight the issues facing members, and Hub Director Gavin McGuire was delighted to be asked to take part in this feature on licensing construction.

The FMB is campaigning for a licensing scheme of the UK construction industry as part of our commitment to standards. We believe licensing can help professionalise our sector, improve its image, and increase the quality of the built environment. The best way to improve the built environment and protect consumers is to remove rogue traders, and ensure that all construction work is undertaken to a set of professional standards.

This article looks at the potential benefits of introducing a mandatory licencing scheme, and what this may look like in operation. Click the link below to read the full feature and understand our continued drive to lobby for and raise standards, whilst elevating Master Builders' work.
