Case Studies

New Roof Structure To Enable A Loft Conversion & Full Width Front Extension


The main roof was removed completely, a new ridge height was specified to gain as much head height as possible. The new roof structure was constructed with new hand cut timbers. A new doormer window was created on the front elevation and five conservation Velux windows were installed on the rear elevation. The new roof is covered with hand made clay pantiles. The front extension stretches across the entire width of the property. The porch is a bespoke piece of joinery constructed locally to Bury St Edmunds and made from Oak.


Oak Garden Room and Porch.


This Oak Garden room and Porch was hand crafted locally in Bury St Edmunds and delivered to site where it was erected.

It was placed on the hand made clay bricks which formed the dwarf wall.

A natural slate roof covered the new Garden Room and was 'cut in' to the main thatch roof. 

The porch roof is constructed with timber and covered with lead and compliments the slate and the thatch roofs.

The Garden room and porch benefit from a 'wet' underfoor heating system which is heated by a Bio-mass boiler.
