This Ecoforest ecoGEO review includes comprehensive information about the Ecoforest ecoGEO ground source heat pump and its features.
Ecoforest was founded in 1959, and since then, it has become one of the leaders in the heating sector, offering innovative heating solutions such as ground source heat pumps.
The Ecoforest EcoGEO+ heat pump is a powerful and efficient heat pump with an output suited for larger homes. It maintains a quiet operation despite heating water up to
Ecoforest was one of the first heat pump manufacturers in Europe that developed technology for geothermal heat pumps. The ecoGEO+ by Ecoforest is one of the most reliable units on the market thanks to the company’s inverter technology, and it is up to 5 times more efficient than traditional fossil fuel systems.
The ecoGEO+ range of ground source heat pumps has an efficiency rating of A++ to A+++ depending on the heating temperature.
These heat pumps are relatively quiet, operating around 44dB depending on the model and setting it is on, and they can heat water up to 70 degrees Celsius.

The ecoGEO+ is available in 1-9kW and 3-12kW versions in its basic range, which allows installation to be completed with a good range of Domestic Hot Water (DHW) cylinders, including with existing cylinders in some cases. You can also choose to cascade up to 3 units to increase the output for larger homes.
Ecoforest’s ecoGEO+ includes integrated management for up to 4 different flow temperatures, a DHW tank, dual buffer tanks for heating and cooling, and a swimming pool. You can control your home’s heating system remotely by using ecoSMART advanced controls.
Design-wise, this heat pump is among the bulkiest on the market, so you’ll need a significant amount of space for the indoor unit. That said, the unit looks quite sleek and modern, so it wouldn’t be an eyesore.
The cost of Ecoforest’s ecoGEO+ depends on the size of the house and your heating and hot water needs, but it starts around £7,000 for the unit alone. This places it firmly in the mid-range in terms of price, but it’s also one of the more powerful units we’ve reviewed, so relatively speaking, it’s quite cost-efficient.
The Ecoforest ecoGEO+ is an excellent ground source heat pump that is particularly well-suited to large properties. We’d also recommend it for those considering an expansion, as it can easily be cascaded to amp its power output.
It is also relatively quiet and easy on the eyes, so it won’t be an eye (or ear!) sore inside your home. Costs wise, it’s not the cheapest on the market, but considering its high efficiency and power output, we think it’s well worth the price.
We considered several factors when reviewing the ecoGEO+ ground source heat pump, including the following weighted criteria: design (20 per cent), durability (20 per cent), efficiency (25 per cent), performance (25 per cent), and guarantee options (10 per cent). We also compared the ecoGEO+ with some of the best outdoor heating systems and ground source heat pumps in the UK in terms of both performance and price.
